Abstract: This talk deals with the reduced order approximation of Large Eddy Simulation turbulence models. We build a Reduced Basis model based upon an error estimator issued from Kolmogorov’s statistical equilibrium turbulence theory. This error estimator measures the distance between the energy spectrum of a trial solution and the theoretical k^-5/3 Kolmogorov spectrum. We present some error estimates that justify the relevance of the estimator. We also present some numerical tests for academic flows that show the good performances of this Kolmogorov’s theory-based RB procedure.
