Title: Linear input-output models of black-box solvers for the stabilization of partitioned fluid-structure interaction simulations

Abstract:

Fluid-structure interaction can be simulated in a partitioned way by coupling a flow solver with a structural solver. If the interaction is strong, e.g. because of a high fluid/structure density ratio, then Newton techniques can be required to obtain convergence of the coupling iterations. However, this requires Jacobians of the solvers, which are not accessible for black box solvers. Therefore, linear input-output models of the solvers are constructed during the coupling iterations and their Jacobians are used in quasi-Newton coupling techniques.
