Reduced Order Methods in Computational Fluid Dynamics: state of the art and perspectives -- COST EU-MORNET

Date:

Monday, 22 February, 2016 - 14:30 to Tuesday, 23 February, 2016 - 16:00

This mini-workshop is organized in the framework of COST, European Union Cooperation in Science and Technology, action TD 1307, EU-MORNET, European Union Model Order Reduction Network. [Leaflet]

The mini-workshop topics deal with reduced order methods in computational fluid-dynamics and related aspects: domain decomposition, coupled physics (elasticity and porous media), interfaces, optimization, control, inverse problems, industrial applications, benchmarks test cases, parametrizations, sensitivity analysis,  etc.

The miniworkshop is organized with the aim of creating an informal atmosphere open to discussions and exchange of ideas, visions and experiences.

This event is the first EU-MORNET miniworkshop and it is within WorkGroup 1 of COST EU-MORNET activities: methodological developments of model reduction, but we aim also to create bridges between WG2 and WG3, more related with applications and  benchmarks.

Confirmed contributed  talks by  Francesco Ballarin (SISSA), Valentina Dolci (Politecnico di Torino),  Silke Glas (University of Ulm), Stefano Lorenzi (Politecnico di Milano), Eleonora Musharbash (EPFL Lausanne), Federico Negri (EPFL Lausanne), Matteo Ripepi (DLR, Germany). Round table and discussion sessions on software developments and perspective on reduced order methods for industrial and scientific applications will follow, coordinated by Gianluigi Rozza and SISSA mathLab researchers.

Opening introduction will be given by Prof. Wil Schilders (TU Eindhoven), COST EU-MORNET chairman.
